About me

Pascal Querner is an autodidact photographer based in Vienna, Austria who recently published his first photo book on the global psytrance culture. Most of the photos in this book were taken by him over the past 10 years at festivals across the globe, from Austria, Germany, Hungary, Portugal, Spain, Russia, Israel to the USA. Ozora, Burning Man, Symbiosis, the Eclipse in Turkey or Boom are just a few of his personal highlights.

Before specialising on psytrance festivals, he travelled extensively with his bicycle across Asia, Africa and South America and some of those stories and pictures were presented in professional slideshows in Austria and Germany.
Making money with his pictures was never the main objective of the biologist, but he tried to capture the special moments or atmosphere of a festival, the atmospheric mood and of course the people he met. Psytrance music and culture is especially interesting for taking photos as these festivals attract very divers and special group of open mined people and the tribal gatherings are set in scenic places and often in beautiful nature.
